Once upon a time there was this very, very accomplished L.A. “street fighter.”  A Golden Gloves (prestigious amateur boxing competition) official got wind of this very, very accomplished L.A. street fighter.  He convinced the very, very accomplished L.A. street fighter to train under the very best boxing trainer in all of Los Angeles.  For six months.  He did so with 100 percent commitment to replacing his instinctive bad habits with not-so-instinctive solid boxing skills.  24/7.  That’s right, total, 1000-percent, full-throttle commitment.  The outcome?  No sooner is he hit with a solid opposing punch, round one, he returns to his “street fighter” instinctive bad habit skills.  Moral to the story?  Changing muscle patterns takes time—as long as it takes time.

What is Bootcamp Golf? It’s about replacing dysfunctional muscle patterns with functional muscle patterns—for as long as it takes. To be clear, as long as it takes is all about “it ain’t learned till it’s learned,” which is all about ingraining, which is all about habituating, which is all about memorizing swing fundamentals.  All of this is all about you don’t have to think about it, which is all about it’s part of you, which is all about you can do it in your sleep, which is all about there is no thinking necessary.  Moral to the story?  Changing muscle patterns takes time—as long as it takes time.
